2008 Democratic National Convention

2008 DNC Logo

The 2008 Democratic National Convention will be held in Denver August 25-28.  During that time, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance from local wildland fire agencies for Emergency Support Function 4a activation and local severity patrols.

The severity patrols will be structured as task forces and will be responsible for patrolling campgrounds, roads, and trails within a prescribed geographic area of Boulder County. Their purpose is to provide appropiate public presence and make contacts to answer questions, provide assistance and advise on regulations, and respond as requested by ESF 4a for suppression of any wildland fire.

The Emergency Support Function 4a (ESF 4a) will be activated in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to provide fire weather and situational updates, establish dispatching protocols for DNC severity resources based upon requests from local jurisdictions, and coordinate out-of-county request for all wildland fire resources.
