Refresher FAQs
Do I have to attend a refresher at my home department?
Absolutely not. All refreshers listed on the JointFire site are county refresher and are open to firefighters from any agency in Boulder County. Choose a refresher that is convenient for you.
Do I need to pre-register for refreshers?
Yes. Pre-registration allows us to ensure that there is adequate seating and availability of course materials to give you the most positive refresher experience possible.
When will I get my certificate?
You will not receive a certificate unless you sign in (during both sessions if you are taking an evening class) and complete an evaluation form at the end of the refresher. Certificates will be delivered electronically to the e-mail address you provided when you registered, and they should arrive within 7 days.
I'm thinking about instructing. Do I have to do a lot of work to teach a refresher?
Teaching a refresher is a "turn-key" operation. All materials are provided, and logistics are taken care of. All you have to do is show up and teach. For more information, see the refresher instructor page.
